Redemption and International Repatriation Presentation to Reparation Commission at Liberty Hall Thursday 15th October 2009 Blessed Love My Lord and Empress, African Sisters and Brothers give thanks for life, give thanks for the mother and father of life, Haile I Selassie I Jah Ras Tafari! Give thanks for the most Hon. Prophet without whom there would be no vision, Marcus I Selassie I Jah Ras Tafari !!! Give thanks for the High Priest without whom there would be no purification order, Holy Emmanuel I Selassie I Jah Ras Tafari !!! Give thanks for the work of this commission going forward positively. The case for reparation has been well established, the research done, the numbers crunched and estimated. Those who died in the dungeons of West Africa, those who died attempting to swim back to Africa having jumped overboard, those who died as a result of suffocation, infections and starvation in the holds of the slave ships, and those thrown overboard in order to claim the insurance money. All that dying even before I&I mothers & fathers reached these shores only to be sold, brutalized and worked to death for no pay. I am an African living in an alien land. I did not choose, I am not an economic migrant, I am not a political migrant. I am the daughter of formerly enslaved Africans, exiled on this slave plantation. Had the transatlantic trade in Africans not taken place, I along with majority of the population of this island would have been born in Africa! The Oxford little dictionary defines reparation thus: “Making Amends” compensation, it defines repatriation thus: “Return to Native Land”. Ras Tafari has been referred to by a member of the Jamaican Government as the World’s greatest religion. I Ras Tafari am here to declare unequivocally that: Ras Tafari was, is and ever will be groundated in the liberation of Africa and Africans at home and abroad. This has been manifested by the continuous demands thru all governments of Jamaica for repatriation to Africa made by the founders of the Ras Tafari movement since its inception. When ancient African souls heeding the direction of Most Hon. Prophet Marcus Mosiah Garvey to look to Africa for I&I Salvation did just that. The ancients looking to Africa seeing the Crowning of the King of Kings identified so closely with His Imperial Majesty and Africa, that I&I called I&I by the name of the King of Kings, Ras Tafari !!! To the ancients “making amends” simply means return to I&I home/native land, Africa !!! The founder of the Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress Woman Freedom Liberation League, Most Rt. Hon. King Emmanuel Charles Edwards is such an ancient. In setting up the Congress at the command of the King of Kings and continually agitating for the fundamental international Repatriation with compensation for Africans so desiring bears clear testimony of these facts. I have read copies of letters written by King Emmanuel (then Prince Emmanuel), dating as far back as 1948 adressed to the governors of Jamaica for the Repatriation to Ethiopia/Africa for Himself, His Congress and All Africans so desiring. In February 1994/1995 I Woman, at His instruction, penned a letter of such demand to H.M. Queen Elizabeth of England. A response was received stating clearly that the matter of Repatriation MUST be dealt with by the Prime Minister of the Jamaican Government thru the auspices of the United Nations. In May of the same year I Woman personally handed such demand to the Foreign Affairs Minister of Jamaica. This had been dictated by King Emmanuel in the form of the “Four Point Agenda for Repatriation”. After a 90 minutes reasoning, the permanent Secretary was instructed to do some research and set an appointment for follow up reasoning in approximately 2 months. Three years later following much agitation, in May 1997/1998 on arriving at the foreign office for such appointed reasoning, I&I were informed by the spokesperson that all documents on the matter of Repatriation had been requested by the Prime Minister therefore all reasonings must be with the Prime Minister, an appointment was promised. The process began by Hon. Marcus Mosiah Garvey, moved forward by Ras Tafari ancients such as King Emmanuel has been handed on to I&I who own H.I.M. as leader and father to be continued and completed. This is the mission of I&I Ras Tafari. I&I Daughters and Sons of Africa on this 15th day of October 2009 call upon the Government of Jamaica to whom His Divine Majesty Haile Selassie “I” gave the documents authorizing the setting up of the Ethiopian Embassy in Jamaica and naming the individual man to carry forward such works to pay heed to the commands of the King and Queen to whom the people of Jamaica pay homage. I&I call upon the Most Hon. Prime Minister Bruce Golding to come let us reason and formulate plans, come sit around the Nyahbinghi drums with Ras Tafari and together let I&I work out the logistics of International Repatriation with compensation for Africans in exile whose hearts desire to return to I&I native homeland Africa through Free Water Way. Hon. Prime Minister in setting up this commission you have taken the first tentative step, I&I implore you to move forward without hesitation towards becoming a true world leader by doing what must be done in making amends for the “crime against humanity” called the “Transatlantic Trade in Africans”. Thus advancing Peace through Justice and fulfilling the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Charter. I&I wish you guidance and a heart of Love in your deliberations, I&I stand available to assist in any way possible to bring about a positive outcome with such momentous Humanitarian works.
